Flower Care
How to care for your hand-tied arrangement
Just follow these simple steps and your flowers will look lovelier, for longer ...
- Remove the hand-tied arrangement carefully from its packaging so that the flowers and foliage are not bruised or damaged in any way.
- Your hand-tied arrangement should not be left in the water bag for any longer than 24 hours.
- Take your hand-tied arrangement over to a sink and snip the water bag base to release the water.
- You can either leave the packaging on or remove it all with care, but do not untie your flowers.
- Cut at least 2cm from the ends of the stems at a 45° angle with scissors or secateurs. Flowers with a woody stem should be cut at an angle and split. Do not hammer or crush the stems.
- Select a vase which is large enough for your bouquet to stand upright and fill it with water and add the flower food. Place your flowers in the vase.
- Ideally place your flowers away from draughts and direct sunlight in a cool room. Some fruits give off gases which reduce the life of certain flowers so we recommend keeping fruit separately.
- Remove any spent blooms, together with any faded foliage.
- To prolong the life of your flowers please remember to change the water in the vase at least once a week.

- If the Rose head flops, as soon as possible, cut off the stem end as above and stand the Rose in 2cm of boiling water for 15 mins or so; this should clear any air locks in the stem.
